LEBANON, AGAIN IN UPRISING.

Beirut, say the Libanese, died thousand times and resurrected thousand times.
After fifteen years of civil war, fifteen years of trying to regain the consideration of being the Paris of the Middle East, the inhabitants of Beirut start today a new chapter - a promising new beginning or an uncertain future? Syria, who has been Lebanon's predominance in the last decade in socio-cultural and economical matters, has withdrawn it's military troops of 14.000 soldiers, pressured by the U.S, France and the opposing neighbouring countries, after the bombing attack on ex-prime-minister Rafic Hariri on february 14th of 2005.
With enthusiasm, the Lebanese are impatient to shape their own identity again, to become the mediator of the West and the Middle east. After the end of the parlamentarian elections, Beirut was affected by a series of bombing attacks on influential politicians and intellectuals. The following series shows an event and its consequences, that took place directly one day after the ending of the elections: the assassination on the communist party leader George Hawi, who has been killed by a car bomb, around the corner of his appartment.
